SummerNight Markets – Downtown Courtenay 2017

After the success of the pilot program, managed by Elevate The Arts in 2015, we are extremely excited to help bring back SummerNight Markets to Downtown Courtenay!

The Arts Council and the Downtown Courtenay Business Improvement Association have joined forces to bring this new and fanciful addition to liven up our downtown core throughout the summer, offering a fresh, urban experience for locals and visitors alike.

  • Every Friday starting July 7th until September 1st
  • Local merchants, artists and makers
  • Buskers and food vendors
  • Community tent

Located on Duncan Avenue, between 3rd and 5th Streets, we'll be invoking a festive environment each week, and filling the street with vendors of all sorts, unique and entertaining buskers, food trucks, farmers, djs and some special events, too!

Mark it on your calendar to come downtown and experience more... meet friends, make friends, find a treasure, have a laugh... we'll look forward to seeing you!

COMMUNITY TENT

Unique to this market will be a community engagement & education tent. A barrier-free place where visitors can learn something new (and FUN)... from you!

We will supply the tent and a small sound system, tables & chairs (if needed).

We will include your "seminar" in the upcoming week's advertising, including your logo if provided, and social media.

You will pay a promotional fee (cash or product), and bring everything else that you need.

BUSKERS

If you've got a secret talent... or a not so secret talent... that you'd like to share with our audiences, and put your "hat" out to them, we're interested to meet you!

We have 3 busking spots within the market zone, each week, open for your brilliance. We will only allow ONE guitar-based performer per week. Other musical talents are encouraged... and ONE spot will be exclusively for non-musical buskers (unless there are none available for that week).
