Ina-Griet Raatz von Hirschhausen

Born 1962, Ina-Griet went to Waldorf-Kindergarten, got her high school diploma, trained as make-up artist and massage therapist, then got a master’s in health-science and choreography/physical education. Ina emigrated from Germany in 1999, settling first in Kelowna, and then High Level Alberta, and finally to Qualicum Beach. While moving around in Canada, she worked on developing her unique and multi-medium artistic style. When she got the opportunity for a solo exhibition in Germany, she took the chance and went back to prepare for that show. After a stunning success, she got offered more solo and numerous joint shows, which kept her busy for four years. During that time she wrote a children’s book, published two poetry books and toured with her ‘Poetry Performance’. In 2014 she finished her last German Exhibition, returned to Canada and moved to the Island where she opened a small gallery “Maloonie”. Ina’s philosophy is: Art can be elevating, fun, meaningful and is accessible to everybody by simply enjoying it or being actively involved.
