POSTPONED: MARCH 14 RECEPTION FOR “TIME OF THINGS” AT CVAG
Exhibition continues to be open to the public from March 14 to May 9
The reception and artist talk for the Comox Valley Art Gallery’s coming exhibition The Time of Things has been rescheduled from March 14 to April 25.
The exhibition, which features the work of five women Indigenous artists from Tuktoyaktuk, Montreal, and Vancouver Island, will continue to be open to the public from March 14 to May 9.
“We encourage people to see this powerful exhibition,” said CVAG executive director Glen Sanford. “Although we won’t have a formal opening event on Saturday, we remain open and everyone is welcome to see this very special collection of work.
“We aim to reschedule the reception and artist/curator talk to April 25 at 1 p.m. Keep an eye on our website for details or any changes."
The Comox Valley Art Gallery will host an artist/curatorial talk and reception Saturday, March 14, starting at 1pm, to mark the opening of "The Time of Things: The Continuum of Indigenous Customary Practices into Contemporary Art.”
The exhibition is guest-curated by visual artist, researcher and curator France Trépanier. It features the work of five contemporary Indigenous artists from Vancouver Island, Montreal, and Inuvialuit: Daphne Boyer, Maureen Bruben, Susan Pavel, Skeena Reece and Maika Echasis Swan.
