Design brief showing in the CVAG Community Space until March 23
The Comox Valley Art Gallery has been working closely with new North Island Hospital to install artwork at several key locations. In the fall we installed work at the Gathering Place Wall near the entrance, and at Central Registration. In the past week, we've added artwork to the main floor waiting room, and the pediatrics ward.
The work in the waiting room is close-up photos of pottery created by Denman Island artist Gordon Hutchens. The photos were taken by Alun Macanulty.
The work in pediatrics was created by the children of Queenish Elementary, the school located adjacent to the new hospital.
In the next few weeks, we'll be installing more work in the chemotherapy and psychiatry wards.
You can view the design brief for the hospital project in the CVAG Community Space until March 23, and you can get more details on our website.
