Local muralist, Josh Klassen, is working to brighten up his neighbourhood.

Can you lend a hand?

Josh says, "I am fundraising to paint and install a mural at the community garden here in downtown Courtenay, British Columbia run by Lush Valley Food Action Society. Please follow the link below for the full story and to donate. PLEASE SHARE SHARE SHARE!!! Thank you! "

We are so very lucky to live close to the Share the Harvest Community Gardenrun by Lush Valley Food Action Society. We visit on our walks to and from town and have met so many folks - from all walks of life - who are drawn to this common welcoming place to witness the beautiful cycle of the spring summer and fall seasons. We snack from the community plots, hear tips from seasoned gardeners, share comfortable silences with strangers, and feel a more rooted sense of place because of its existence . Josh Klassen wants to brighten the space even further with a mural and has started a gofundme to help support the costs....

Josh also painted the mural at The Butcher's Block, as well as a number of neighbourhood splashes of colour around the valley on garage doors, coach houses and studio walls. He also helped to created the Diversity Mural on the Cliffe St exterior of the Elks Lodge, downtown Courtenay.

Comox Valley Arts is pleased to support Josh's efforts and the beauty he is bringing to our valley's urban spaces.
