Percussionist and music teacher, Beau Stocker, brings the diversity of international rhythms home to students in the Comox Valley.

Beau began his music career in Toronto Ontario, studying jazz performance at Humber College and York University, and then moved to York England to pursue study in Javanese Gamelan and improvised music as part of an MA and current PhD by Performance at the University of York.

At the beginning of his PhD he lived in Sudan, studying East African rhythm traditions, and now at the end has moved to the Comox Valley to share his experiences. Beau’s research and performance careers have existed simultaneously; each fuelling the progress of the other.

Beau looks forward to inspiring students in an individualized approach that focuses on progressive curriculum and integrates his knowledge of pedagogy. Drummers of all skill levels will gain tools to enjoy creating music and expanding their individual potencial.

Beau is now accepting students of all levels for lessons at Motif Music Studios.  For more information or to save your lesson time for the Fall term, email [email protected] or call 250.792.3065.
