Lupine Art Studio welcomes Scott Bertram as their lead instructor for their Level 3 painting classes, designed for artists that want to focus on specific materials and techniques at a more advanced level.
Bertram’s art education background includes a BFA from the University of British Columbia Okanagan and an MFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. He is no stranger to teaching, having instructed at Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (Halifax), University of Manitoba (Winnipeg), OCAD University (Toronto), and North Island College (Courtenay).
“Finding Your Voice” is a new multi-week art class starting January 16 @ Lupine Art Studio, with class content based on critique, dialogue, and self-motivated work under Scott’s direction. The class runs on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-8:00pm.
Lupine’s owner, Jess Kaufman, gave us an update on how things are going at their studio located in downtown Courtenay.
“We’ve had tremendous success with our beginner and intermediate art classes in the past year and we are excited to build on that. Since the spring, we’ve had over 120 students enrol in Level 1 Acrylic Painting – every one of them was an absolute beginner to painting. The Level 2 classes (intermediate) are selling out often as well. Bringing Scott on board is really exciting for us as we feel he’s the perfect fit to help us develop our Level 3 art classes, which will appeal to practicing artists and those who want more flexibility in their projects. It’s an area that we haven’t had a chance to focus on yet and 2019 is when it will come to life!”
