Susan Pederson is a poet, copywriter and spoken word artist who lives in Nanoose Bay, B.C. with her husband and two daughters. Susan’s career began in advertising and public relations, before she became a full-time journalist and editor with one of Alberta’s largest publishers, Redpoint Media Group.
She has performed on CBC Radio; is a regular performer at 15 Minutes of Infamy, and has created two International Women’s Day spoken word events to raise funds for women’s shelters. She has also written for The Globe and Mail, numerous magazines, and has published three poetry chapbooks: It’s about the Kids – notes about kids and cousins, The Grey Suit – notes about death and dying, and How Many Times Can You Say Good-bye? – notes to my best friend as she was dying.
Recently, she published a funny book about raising a toddler while going through menopause, and is currently writing a book for people facing the assisted death of their loved one. Susan ploughs through the façade of our everyday, and cuts to the bone (both funny and not) in her performances.
