The day begins at 11 am with a community engagement make art workshop  led by artists Nancy Bleck and Eileen Leier.  At 1pm the artists will give a talk about their art practices and their
exhibited work. This will be followed by a reception. We hope you will join us for some or all of the day. CVAG events are free and open to all ages.
CVAG is committed to being an active participant in reconciliation activities through contemporary art. This event initiates year long programming at the gallery that is centred in Indigenous cultural issues and practices. The first program of 2018 presents work that documents and witnesses colonial/indigenous intersections through a feminist lens for the purpose of instigating awareness to environmental and social justice issues that require our society’s attention. Relationships to one another and to the natural world are implicated. During the opening reception there will be an opportunity to speak with presenting artist/photographers, Eileen Leier and Nancy Bleck.
