The “CVWS” noon hour reading sessions at the Courtenay Public Library are going very well and bringing some public attention to local poets.  The library “events room” was jammed for the August 28 session which drew  a combined group of 26 readers and listeners over the noon hour. The poetry was varied in style and content  containing pathos and humour - sometimes even in the same four line poem. The intention is to continue the sessions  into September.

On Friday, September 26 , Mrs. Bernice Friesen, a local writer and poet with published works and national reviews to her credit is expected to be a special guest reader. We look forward to the event WHICH IS FREE to both the poets and the public. A great way to spend the noon hour lunch break and get a free cup of coffee, perhaps even a cookie or two if you hurry.
