The Guide offers visitors and residents alike, a year-round directory to our incredible community of creators, makers, artists, musicians, studios, writers, performers, crafters and more.

“This guide will be the definitive resource for all things Arts & Culture,” says Comox Valley Arts Executive Director, Dallas Stevenson. “Our goal is that it becomes the go-to for residents, businesses and tourists who are seeking creative support, instruction, products or services.”

Encompassing the entire Central Island region from Parksville to Campbell River, and all the islands in between, there are 100s of artists of every description who are eligible to participate. The main criteria is that you WANT the public to know you exist!

Not by any means limited to visual arts, the guide welcomes performing, written, digital and craft artisans -such as bands, session musicians, vocalists for hire, songwriters, actors, directors, designers, stage managers, authors, poets, ghost writers, editors, sound engineers, recording studios, game designers… you name it!

Project coordinator, Kera McHugh, asserts, “The Central Island region is home to approximately 10% of BCs Arts Sector – that’s a LOT of people. We want as many as possible to participate in this inaugural issue and help firmly and publicly establish our corridor as the Arts & Culture mecca we all know it is!”

“It’s a big undertaking that marks the full evolution of the Central Island Studio Tour,” continues McHugh. “This new guide will also serve as the tour brochure for our 6th Studio Tour – happening May 26 & 27, 2018. Studio owners who wish to participate in the 2018 Studio Tour need to be in the guide. This is THE publication that will tell folks where to find you!”

The guide is also welcoming advertisers who want to benefit from those seeking Arts & Culture experiences and products. Demonstrating that you know the Arts are a big part of the amazing community we share is a great way to attract new business. People in the arts support businesses who support the arts. It’s a great partnership!

Distribution of the 30,000+ full colour copies is slated for all of Vancouver Island, including all major BC Ferries routes and the Black Ball routes to Washington State, as well as key tourist locations that lead to the Island.

DEADLINE TO BOOK IS DECEMBER 18. Deadline for copy & artwork is Jan 12.
